Why Choose Moses Lake Family Dentistry for Dentures and Partials?

What are Dentures?

Dentures are probably the most well-known form of tooth replacement; they’ve been used for centuries, but thanks to modern technology and materials, they’re more comfortable and durable than ever. Depending on your needs, you may get:

The Process of Getting Dentures

Holding dentures

After any necessary tooth extractions, we’ll use our digital impression system to design a set of dentures that fit as comfortably as possible in your mouth. A dental lab will create your new dentures, and you’ll return to our office to have them fitted.

If you’re getting dental implants, the procedure is somewhat different. The implant posts need to be surgically attached to the jawbone, at which point your mouth will need about 3 to 6 months to heal. Once it has, the implants should be stable enough to support the load of full dentures.

Maintenance for Dentures

Holding dentures

Dentures don’t last forever, but if you want to get the most out of them, it’s important to keep them clean by rinsing them with water after every meal. (Be very careful handling your prosthetic whenever you take it out for cleanings.) Ideally, you should also clean your tongue, cheeks, and the roof of your mouth while your dentures have been removed. You can also brush your dentures daily with a soft-bristled brush and denture cleaner (not toothpaste). If you have traditional dentures or removeable implant dentures, don’t forget to take them out at night to give your gums a rest while you sleep.
