To show our support for Park Orchard Elementary School and to encourage young minds to think creatively, Dr. Harder's Moses Lake office recently awarded a special grant to the school to help them buy a die cut machine and a supply of alphabet die cuts. Die cut machines can be used to add spark to arts and crafts projects and even scrapbook pages. Congratulations Park Orchard Elementary!
Money for Grant County Classrooms
You already know we love smiles and we have happily been caring for smiles in the Moses Lake community for nearly 15 years. But now we are creating even more smiles with our Smiles for Education grant program to help financially support our local teachers and classrooms!
For every smile we whiten here at Moses Lake Family Dentistry, the proceeds will fund our Smiles for Education grants. Our community will be able to help support a classroom with their new, whiter smiles and our local teachers will have access to grants helping to defray classroom costs that would otherwise either come right out of their personal paycheck, or just not happen.
Thank you for inquiring about Smiles for Education. We are all very excited about this program and more than happy to answer any questions you may have!
I wanted to take a moment to thank you for providing me with the funds to supplement my Health curriculum. My class was learning about nutrition and I wanted to purchase Supersize Me, a documentary about the positive and negative consequences of eating fast food. The PG rated version of the video was $50 which Dr. Harder contributed. Thanks to this contribution, my kids are able to see a documentary that is engaging and shows the real effects of making poor choices when dining out. The documentary also came with lesson plans that reenforced the message Morgan Spurlock was delivering.
Thank you Dr. Harder and the team at Moses Lake Family Dentistry. Your Smiles For Education Program greatly benefited the 6th grade students at Chief Moses Middle School!

Eating Right with Super Size Me
Mrs. Vailancourt had a dream. She wanted to teach her junior high students about nutrition so they could make informed choices about what to eat. But to do that, she needed to purchase the documentary Super Size Me and the curriculum that goes with it.
As a general dentists, Dr. Harder knows the importance of preserving your body?s overall health and with a grant from our teeth whitening proceeds, Mrs. Vailancourt can give her students the facts they need to choose healthy foods. And that?s a mission we can get behind!
A Winning Logo
Our first winner was Mrs. Hammond and her second grade class. Their logo beat out many others from across the district that were entered as part of our logo contest. Its creativity and originality truly made it stand out. We feel proud to have made a difference for her and her class!

A Penny Saved Is a Penny Earned
You?re never too young to learn about personal finances. That was Mrs. Myer?s belief and it?s ours too. That?s why our next grant went to her and her seventh grade class.
As children mature, they?ll find that knowing how to save, create a budget, and make wise investment decisions will help them as they enter adulthood. What a great gift to give students!

Impressive Engineering
Our most recent grant was awarded to Mrs. Frederick?s sixth grade engineering class. Their plans for building three turbines impressed us immediately. Technical proficiency is a valuable skill, and helping students put those skills to work in combination with science is inspiring to see.
